This section describes how MATLABTM can be used together with Lumerical's software. The script integration page shows how MATLAB commands can be typed directly into the Lumerical script prompt. Alternatively, simulation data can be exported to .mat files for later processing. The final pages in this section provide additional information on how to visualize simulation data with MATLAB.In most circumstances, it is best to do your analysis within the Lumerical scripting environment. This allows you to take advantage of specialized functions such as far field projections, and makes automating parameter sweeps easy. However, some specialized MATLAB functions are not available in the Lumerical scripting environment. The best example is data visualization. Lumerical script commands allow you to make line and image plots, but these options are limited compared to the wide range of MATLAB data visualization functions.
