Data from a Lumerical script can be exported to MATLAB (.mat) files for further analysis. Similarly, data stored in a .mat file can be loaded into Lumerical's scripting environment.
A data set can be exported from a Lumerical simulation to a MATLAB data file (.mat). MATLAB can then be used to do any desired analysis. This option is appropriate when all of the analysis can be done with MATLAB and there is no need for any further interaction with Lumerical. This option is also useful when MATLAB is not installed on the same computer as your Lumerical products.
For example, open usr_matlab.fsp, then run usr_matlab_optionB.lsf. The script will create a .mat file that contains the electric field intensity data, plus the associated position vectors. After the script has run, MATLAB can be used to open the .mat file and do any required analysis.
